Intensive Russian Attacks Eliminate Electricity In Kyiv

Power facilities under attack in Ukraine
The country's power facilities have faced escalating strikes in recent weeks

During the night, Moscow's missile and drone strikes have resulted in electricity outages in extensive areas of Ukraine's capital, Kyiv.

Nine people were injured while residents in the city's east were plunged into darkness and encountered interruptions to water supplies, per reports from local authorities.

Meanwhile, a minor was killed in a different aerial attack in the Zaporizhzhia area in the southern area, as reported by area administrators.

Moscow has intensified strikes on power infrastructure over the past few days, while Ukrainian leadership has demanded "substantial measures" from partner nations to exert influence on Moscow.

"What is required is not symbolic gestures but decisive action - from the United States, European nations and the G7 - in providing protection systems and enforcing sanctions," was stated in a online statement.

Officials stated that numerous aerial vehicles and over thirty rockets struck the country's power systems, labeling such attacks as "cynical and calculated" and against "essential services" as temperatures become colder.

Energy officials said Russia was "launching a major assault" and maintenance teams were laboring to restore power.

A wave of strikes hit energy infrastructure and civilian homes in Kyiv.

Five out of the nine people wounded in the strikes on the capital have been taken to hospital, according to municipal representatives.

Local officials said the urban area came under intense attacks throughout the evening. A minor lost their life and several individuals were wounded.

The strikes come after evenings of bombing campaigns in the territory, parts of which remain under the control of Moscow's military.

The entire country is in a state of readiness for sophisticated projectile assaults, which are harder to spot.

Government officials told journalists that Moscow was intentionally trying to damage the country's energy grid, with assaults already affecting fuel infrastructure.

Authorities confirmed utility staff and officials were anticipating more assaults.
